Serious iPhone Updates Coming

Date March 19, 2008

I watched the information that the iPhone is coming out with some new updates and these next updates are going to be something of a helpful nature. The last update to 1.1.4 was .. well .. eh. The new maps are cool and the text messaging features are pretty cool. Even though I have only used the multi text once so far but I see a use for it in the future.

The main feature about this update seems to be geared toward attracting the bigger companies that use one type of phone for their employees. Creating and distributing Apps that anyone can get involved in building. Targeting the big Enterprises is all well and good but I hope that the average joe gets these updates to and is able to use them for their own little home business features.

Some of the new features include the ability to lock out the phone and keep people from hacking into it. Another cool feature if you r phone is ever stolen. Just find a computer that you are linked to the network with and kill the iPhone.

One of the other new features is supposed to let you link up with the iPhone and your computer .. or your buddies computer .. and link files that pertain to contacts and appointments. Very handy for the on the go salesman.

The addition of games and AIM for the iPhone seems pretty hands as well. The battery on the iPhone is not going to be able to handle all that chatting. At least mine wont. Im going to need to be near a plug or a computer quite often. I wonder if there is something wrong with my battery. I’m going to go to the Apple Store and have it checked out.

One thing I do know is that if you don’t have an iPhone now and you want one but don’t want to have it on AT&T then you better get your hands on one now that is already unlocked. There will be significant update to the iPhone that is going to tackle the issue of iPhones that are not on the AT&T network.
